Fasting No Better Than Calorie Counting for Weight Loss

People who consumed food within an 8-hour period each day—also known as time-restricted eating—experienced a similar amount of weight loss after a year as those who maintained a 25% daily reduction in calories, according to results from a randomized clinical trial that included 77 adults with obesity, most of whom were Black or Hispanic individuals. Both intervention groups lost about 5% of their original weight after 12 months.
